Can I recall a direct debit?

If a direct debit has been claimed from your account, you are able to recall it the same day by contacting us before 8.30pm (UK time).

If it is after 8.30pm (UK time) or the funds have left your account on a previous working day, then you will need to claim a Direct Debit Indemnity.

If you need help, the quickest way is using Cora, your digital assistant. Before starting a chat, please log in to online banking or our mobile app. This will verify your identity, saving you time.

  • Online banking - Log in to online banking. From the home screen, click 'Chat to Cora' and type 'direct debit indemnity'.
  • Mobile app - Open our mobile app. Tap 'Help' at the bottom of the screen. Choose 'Chat to Cora' and type 'direct debit indemnity'.
