Authorise payments and view accounts while on the move

You can apply if you’re 18 or over and an owner or director of the business. The business must be registered and trading in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar, and at least one controlling party must be resident in one of these locations. Available to existing eQ online banking customers using a compatible Apple or Android device.

What is eQ Mobile?

eQ Mobile is the companion app to eQ online banking. Depending on the permissions granted by your eQ System Administrator, you can:

log into eQ online banking without a card reader
view accounts and check balances
approve payments quickly using biometrics

eQ Mobile is available to eQ online banking customers using a compatible Apple or Android device.

How to install eQ Mobile

To install the eQ Mobile app on your device:

search for 'eQ Mobile' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
download and install the app on one device only
register your customer numbers using your smartcard and reader

How do I register my customer numbers in eQ mobile?

Once you've downloaded and installed eQ Mobile, just follow these steps to complete your registration:

Enter your existing eQ login details
Customer number, username and password.
Use your smartcard and reader
Insert your smartcard, enter your PIN, scan the QR code shown on your screen and type in the response code generated by your reader.
Set up biometrics and create your keycode
Enable biometrics and choose a 6‑digit keycode.

You can add more customer numbers at any time — just use the ‘Add a customer number’ option or tap the ‘+’ icon.

If you see the message 'Incorrect credentials', it usually means there’s an issue with your eQ login details. Try logging in to eQ online banking to check them. If you can log in there but not in eQ Mobile, please contact the eQ Helpdesk.

Information Message

To use the eQ Mobile app, your eQ System Administrator will need to enable the relevant permission on your eQ user profile.

Common questions

Using eQ Mobile

What accounts and balances information can I see using the eQ Mobile?

You'll see all your accounts and balances in the app, including sterling and multi‑currency accounts.

For each account, you can view:

Account short name
Account number
Sort code
Account type
Currency
BIC
IBAN

For multi‑currency accounts, you’ll also see all currencies available for that account.

To refresh your balances, simply pull down on the 'Accounts & balances' screen.

While using eQ Mobile, can I still access eQ online banking?

Yes, you can use the app and eQ online banking at the same time.

Can I register eQ Mobile on more than one device?

No, you can only use eQ Mobile on one device at a time.

If you set it up on a new device, it will automatically replace your existing one, so you’ll need to re-register if you switch back.

How do I reset my 6-digit keycode?

If you've forgotten your keycode or just want to change it, you can reset it at any time using the 'Forgotten your keycode' option on the log in screen.

For security, you'll need to re‑register your customer numbers using your smartcard and reader.

Can I still use the app if I change my phone?

Yes, you'll just need to download eQ Mobile on your new phone and set it up again.

It’s also a good idea to remove the app from your old device once you’re set up.

Biometric approvals

Do I need to enable biometrics on my phone to use eQ Mobile?

Yes, you will need enabled biometrics on your device to use eQ Mobile.

Face ID and/or Touch ID on compatible Apple devices
Android Fingerprint on compatible Android devices.

For security, we will ask you to set up both biometrics and a 6-digit keycode during registration.

What happens if I change the biometrics on my device?

If you change the biometrics on your device (for example, by adding a new fingerprint), you’ll need to re‑register your customer numbers.

This helps protect your accounts and keep your details secure.

Can I approve a batch that includes a lapsed payment?

Yes. You can still approve a batch that contains a lapsed payment. All active payments in the batch will be authorised and released. Any payment that has lapsed will need to be re‑entered in eQ online banking before it can be authorised again.
