Cover for one car, or more

If you have an accident involving your car where you are not to blame:
 

  • We’ll provide up to £100,000 of legal costs to help you to claim, where no other insurance policy will cover your losses, as long as there is a better than 50% chance that your claim will succeed.
  • Examples of what you may claim for include compensation for personal injury, loss of earnings and accident repair costs if you don’t have comprehensive cover.
     

How does it work?

If we accept your claim, a solicitor will be appointed to act for you, and they will handle all aspects of your claim such as:
 

  • Evaluating what you can claim for and the chance that your claim will succeed.
  • Locating specialists such as a medical expert or counsel. The specialist charges will be met by this Motor Legal Protection policy.
  • Negotiating with the person responsible and their insurers.
  • Starting legal proceedings if necessary.

The appointed solicitor is regulated by the Law Society which, in addition to the high standards of service you would expect from NatWest, ensures that you receive a professional legal service.

  • If your car is written off within the first 24 months of vehicle registration, you’ll be provided with a brand new replacement vehicle.
  • Courtesy car while your car is being repaired after an accident (subject to availability from an approved repairer). This is guaranteed within 24 hours of registering a claim if you need one, available for 21 days. Optional enhanced cover up to £4,000 towards hiring a replacement vehicle that similar to your current model.
  • Personal cover of up to £30,000 if you and your partner are in a motor accident.
  • Windscreen or glass replacements won’t affect your no claim discount –subject to payment of policy excess.

Theft or lost keys

Cover for possessions left in your car and audio equipment in the event of a theft or attempted theft.

  • Up to £1,000 cover for possessions left in your car in the event of a theft or attempted theft. If you choose Premier home contents cover, your possessions are covered up to your full sum insured anywhere in the world.
  • In-car audio equipment cover up to the market value of the vehicle. Unlimited cover on all manufacturer fitted audio, satellite navigation and entertainment equipment.
  • Unlimited cover for loss or theft of car keys.
  • Windscreen or glass replacements won’t affect your no claim discount – subject to payment of policy excess.
