Appointment checklist

Ready to arrange your mortgage? Here's the documents you'll need...


New & existing customers
Here's what you'll need for your mortgage appointment

We'll need to see:

  • proof of identity, such as a Passport of driving licence
  • 3 months bank statements for any personal or business current accounts you have with other financial institutions
  • 3 recent payslips
  • any existing mortgage statements
  • details of any rental income
  • any credit card or store card statements


If you're self employed, a sole trader or a limited company director we'll also need to see:

  • 3 months business bank statements
  • 2 years audited accounts certified by an accountant and signed by you.

We may need additional information from you depending on yoru persoanl circumstances. We'll send you details of everything you need when your mortgage appointment is arranged.

Self-build mortgages
Additional documents you'll need if you're applying for a self-build mortgage

If building your own home you will also need to provide:

  • planning permission
  • a copy of your fixed price contract with your builder

If you are building by direct labour you will need to provide both:

  • a letter from a architect/engineer or surveyor detailing and outlining build costs and confirming that the property can be completed in full within the proposed build cost
  • a letter to confirm that construction is supervised from outset to completion by an architect or chartered building surveyor who is in possession of suitable professional indemnity insurance
