When prompted, please explain where the money has come from including the bank, country and name of the account sending the money. Use the guidance notes and example below to help you give us the right information to prevent any delay in opening your account.
Guidance:
- Please explain where the initial money that will credit this account will come from, including expected amount (Salary / Regular income from.../ Bonus from.../ Pension from.../ Sale of property / Inheritance / Sale of investments or shares/ Insurance pay out in relation to.../ Winnings from lottery etc);
- If the first transfer is a cheque or electronic transfer, please provide the bank(s) and the remitting/senders account details from where the money is coming from;
- If depositing cash, please explain why the amount of cash is being deposited and where the cash was sourced from;
- If the money is being transferred from an account not in your name, please explain the relationship.
Example:
The initial transfer will be (£X amount) which will be transferred from ( X Bank in X Country ) from an account in the name of ( X Name) and the expected ongoing source of money will be from my monthly salary from ABC Ltd (£X amount).
When prompted, please let us know how your wealth has been generated. We need to know specifically how you have made money, including the country of origin. Here are some examples:
- salary payments from...
- earnings generated from self employment...
- investments and property transactions...
- inheritance...
We may need you to provide evidence to support the information you give us.

Isle of Man

- Driving licence (issued by the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Gibraltar, an EU member state, USA or Canada), or
- National identity card (this excludes cards issued by the United Kingdom).
Please bring one of the following with you, which must include your signature and photograph, to confirm your identity:
- Current signed passport, or
- Full UK or EU driving licence (including provisional), or
- Current EU national identity card.
Please bring one of the following with you, which must relate to your residential address and contain your full name (or all initials) and surname, to confirm your address:
- Utility bill less than 6 months old (electricity, water, gas, landline telephone, council tax or rates), or
- Bank, Building Society, Credit Card or bank correspondence (must be less than 6 months old), or
- Mortgage statement (must be less than 12 months old).
We can accept NatWest International bank statements provided they have been posted to you (not printed at home or in branch).
Unfortunately we cannot accept mobile telephone bills.
