How to report suspicious transactions, emails, phone calls or texts

Don’t recognise a transaction?

If you don't recognise a payment on your statement it could be because the company you have made a payment to may have a different trading name from the one you expect. For example, if you bought something from Argos, it could appear on your statement as 'Home Retail Group'.

A quick internet search can help, or check our list of common retailers and service providers, and their trading names.

Have you noticed any suspicious transactions or think you're a victim of fraud? Here's how to report it to us.

Report fraud on your credit card

If you need to report fraud in relation to a NatWest credit card, you should telephone 00800 161 5153 (24 hours a day).

From abroad please telephone +44 1268 508 020 (24 hours a day). You can reverse the charges on calls from abroad.

Report a suspicious email or text message

Report a suspicious email

If you have received a fraudulent or suspicious email, and not responded to it, please forward the e-mail to phishing@natwestint.com.

However, if you have responded to the e-mail, and/or you suspect that any of your accounts with us have been accessed online by someone other than yourself, please contact us immediately on 0800 161 5154 (Minicom 0845 900 5961). From abroad please telephone +44 1268 500874 (Minicom +44 118 963 9148).

Reporting a suspicious text message

If you have received a suspicious text message referring to NatWest International, please forward the text to us at 0044 7860 009378 (Gibraltar customers please text 0034 638 444947).
