We always advise our customers that bank-to-bank electronic transfer is the best way to receive funds from abroad.



Safe – all transactions are carried out on secure banking systems. The money is paid directly into your account.


Speedy – funds are credited to your account as soon as possible. This will be either on the value date or, if this is not possible, on the next best possible value date.


Straightforward – avoid any complicated paperwork.


Cost effective – it only costs £1 to receive payments up to £100 and £7 for payments over £100 (or currency equivalent).


Simple – it doesn't matter which currency you're paid in. We automatically convert all payments under £25,000 to your account currency.

Euro payments – what you need to provide

  • Our name in full: NatWest plc
  • Our SWIFT address: NWBKGB2L
  • Your account name and number. This needs to be an IBAN (International Bank Account Number). This is not the same as your normal bank account number. Your branch can give you the details

Non-euro payments – what you need to provide

  • Our name in full: NatWest plc
  • Your branch sort code
  • Your branch name and address
  • Your account name and number or identifier
