How to make a payment

Logging in for the first time?

Once you've registered for ibanking, we'll send you an activation code by post – it usually arrives within seven days. You need the activation code to start using the service.

  • Make sure you're familiar with the security information. Visit the ibanking log in page
  • Enter your customer number which you were given during the registration process. This is not the same as your account number
  • Tick the new activation code box and then click on the 'Next' button
  • Enter your activation code. You'll then be asked to choose a PIN and password. Make sure these are memorable – you'll need them every time you log in
  • Destroy your activation code
  • You'll need to create your own four digit personal identification number (PIN). Make sure it's different from the PIN of your other cards
  • You'll also need to create a password. This must be between six and twenty characters and can contain letters and numbers

Existing user logging in?

Once your ibanking service has been activated, logging in is easy:

  • Visit the ibanking log in page
  • Enter your customer number and click on the 'Next' button
  • Enter the details we ask for from your PIN and password. We never ask for your full PIN or password, only random characters from each

Forgotten your customer number?

Call us on +44 (0) 1534 282870. We can remind you of the last four digits of your customer number. Calls may be recorded.

Forgotten your password?

We can't send you a reminder of your PIN or password. However, we can send you a new activation code. This lets you re-activate your access to ibanking. You'll have to create a new PIN and password.

How to make a payment

Once you've completed the activation process, call our helpdesk on +44 (0) 1534 282870 to unlock your Smart Card Reader. Calls may be recorded.

At this time you will be asked to select a four digit PIN for your Smart Card. Use a different PIN from your ibanking login.
